Review: The Chicken Rescue League by Amy Eastlake

I just read "The Chicken Rescue League" by Amy Eastlake, which is a sequel to "Tornado Bait". While not as laugh out loud funny as Tornado Bait, I think The Chicken Rescue League is a better mystery and seems even better written.

Our heroine Tina Anderson is back, and this time her new boyfriend gets murdered in the down on it's heals trailer park she manages. The police suspect either her or Tina's ex-husband for the murder and Tina feels she must find the real murders or face being railroaded for a crime she did not commit. And why was her late boyfriend looking into chicken fighting in the city just before he was murdered?

I recommend reading Tornado Bait first, because it introduces the characters and their situations, then read The Chicken Rescue League as a follow up. On Fictionwise.com this book is subtitled "A Tina Anderson Mystery #2" and I hope that means we will be seeing more books in this series - I know I will be looking forward to them.

The Chicken Rescue League is available from: BooksforaBuck.com, Fictionwise and eBookwise.

Hi Brad--
Thanks for the reviews and positive thoughts.

Here's a secret. There is a third mystery in the Tina Anderson universe. It isn't published yet, and Tina plays only a small role, but it's set in the same trailer park and community with a similar tone.

I'm trying to decide whether to publish it with www.BooksForABuck.com or spend an eternity waiting for feedback from one of the bigger dollar publishers.

Hi Amy,

Well my greedy self wants another trailer park mystery published as soon as possible, but that may not be the best thing for you. You certainly have the talent to be published by the big time publishers.

I am very glad to see Booksforabuck.com distributing through Fictionwise and eBookwise now too. That should broaden their reach a lot.

Anyway thanks for telling me about the third book I will keep an eye out for it.
